About the role
A leading company in the chemicals and mining industry is looking for an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee fleet operations, maintenance, and performance across its industrial operations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily fleet operations, including heavy trucks, loaders, forklifts, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Oversee workshop activities, spare parts availability, and external maintenance services.
- Monitor fleet utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, traffic regulations, and company procedures.
- Investigate vehicle breakdowns and accidents and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor fleet KPIs, prepare operational reports, and manage budgets.
- Lead and develop the fleet operations and maintenance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in fleet management, maintenance, or logistics.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing heavy trucks, loaders, forklifts, or similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, workshops, and spare parts management.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
- Very good command of English and proficiency in MS Office and fleet management systems.
